Autism Counts

We are a non-profit organization currently working to create a center with a shop and art studio where symptoms of autism will be accommodated. There, people within the spectrum may work on crafts in a calm environment, which they may then decide to keep or sell at our shop for their own profit. This center will also provide a Sensory Room, with different activities and equipment for sensory issues, as well as a shop that will sell educational materials, stress relief products (including sensory equipment), products for autism awareness and crafts created by the artists in our studio.

Our logo represents our aspirations, to create a place where people within the spectrum and neurotypicals join together to create a loving and accepting environment.

Stay tuned for more info and submit your stories about autism to http://autismcounts.tumblr.com

There is one lovely young woman I know who would LOVE this place. If only there was one in every city.

Chris Jordan, Running the Numbers

“…2.4 million plastic bottles, equal to the estimated number of pounds of plastic pollution that enter the world’s oceans every hour

All of the plastic used to compose this work was collected from the Pacific Ocean.”
